Greetings from a Davaoeña

This is currently my third blog, my first is a personal blog, and my second is a fashion blog. I have decided to create a travel blog because as a mother, I really can't go anywhere by myself anymore, I have to bring my son with me, and I prefer it that way. This blog is about our adventures in our hometown of Davao City, the city of my birth, my husband's birth and my son's birth. The city that nurtured us and protected us (This city was voted most child friendly city a few years back).

Allow me to post some information on Davao according to Wikipedia.com.

The City of Davao (Tagalog: Lungsod ng Dabaw; Cebuano: Dakbayan sa Dabaw) is the chief commercial center on the island of Mindanao in the Philippines. It is also one of the Philippines' most progressive cities. Its international airport and seaports are among the busiest cargo hubs in the southern part of the Philippines.

Davao City is also one of several cities in the Philippines that are independent of any province. The city serves as the regional center for Davao Region (Region XI). It has a population of 1,363,330 (2007 census) and is named by the Foreign Direct Investment Magazine as the 10th "Asian City of the Future".[1] In recent years, Davao City has emerged as the business, investment and tourism hub for the entire southern Philippines. The city boasts of some of the finest beaches and mountain resorts in the country and its proximity to the Philippines’ most captivating diving spots as well as its highest peak, Mount Apo.

The pace in Davao is laidback. Far from the hustle and bustle of Manila and Cebu. But our city is currently progressing and we are looking forward to it. There is an abundance of fruits, white sand beaches just a bangka ride away, and if cool weather and country living is your thing, Bukidnon is just a few kilometers away. And if you're a mallrat or you like to shop, there's SM City, Gaisano South Mall, Gaisano City Mall, NCCC Mall, Victoria Plaza, and Chimes Specialty Store.

I look forward to going on our first roadtrip. See you soon!
